USACE District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) Armory Windows Replacement Project, Washington D.C. – $778K

Doyon Technical Services won a $778K contract to provide construction services to replace 109 windows that support 588,094 SF at the DCNG in Washington, DC. Since the armory was constructed in 1941, the project initially includes the removal and disposal of the Art Moderne style cast-iron windows. This involves the testing and elimination of PCB containing caulk, asbestos abatement, and lead abatement. Doyon has also been charged with the removal of all window shades/blinds and the installation or re-installation of new and/or existing window treatments, including window shades, curtains, and blinds.

Because these are designated historic windows, Doyon will provide customized manufactured windows which replicate the material, profile, dimensions, operability, and light configuration of the originals. Likewise, all distinctive features, finishes and construction techniques that characterized the historic property will be strictly required and followed during the installations.
