NAVFAC Replace Cooling Towers & Heat Exchangers, Bangor, WA – $4.0M

This project involves designing and constructing replacement closed-circuit cooling tower packages based on a 10–15% concept design provided by the government. The existing system uses open-circuit cooling towers located in the mechanical courtyard, connected to heat exchangers in the adjacent chiller room. The open-circuit design allows debris to circulate through the system, causing fouling and reduced performance. The new closed-circuit design aims to eliminate these issues and improve system reliability.
